Maintenance Technician

Hallmark Dental Laboratory, a leading dental lab in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building and its utilities and amenities.
Key Responsibilities- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine inspections to identify potential issues and carry out preventative maintenance work to avoid failures and malfunctions.
- Maintenance Tasks: Carry out maintenance tasks based on technical manuals, blueprints, and oral instructions.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Analyze and troubleshoot repair and maintenance requests, including repairing dry wall, machines, equipment, and building surfaces.
- Emergency Maintenance: Handle emergency maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Installation and Inspection: Install appliances and equipment, and check the functionality of safety systems, such as fire alarms.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to be in safe, clean, and good working conditions.
- Inventory Management: Work with the Inventory Analyst to stock adequate maintenance materials and equipment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain complete records of daily maintenance activities.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with workers and other professionals to ensure smooth operations.
- Adherence to Policies: Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
- Routine Inspections: Carry out routine inspections of the building and equipment to identify any developing issues.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience performing routine maintenance of buildings and equipment.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read technical manuals and drawings, and skilled use of hand and electrical tools.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.
- Communication Skills: Good command of the English language, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technology: Good with technology and strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge: Good knowledge of building maintenance, HVAC systems, small equipment repairs, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license.
