AWS Head of Infrastructure

Starboard Recruitment is seeking an experienced AWS Head of Infrastructure to join our client's team in Saskatoon, Canada.
About the Role:The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the engineering, procurement, and construction management of surface infrastructure on the project. This includes ensuring compliance with project delegations of authority, procedures, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate with Project Leadership and Project Services to identify and prepare required Surface Infrastructure related reporting formats and key performance indicators for management needs.
- Review engineering drawings and specifications prepared for the Project, develop strategies for execution, and determine appropriate construction and contracting methods for economic constructability.
- Interface with the Environment, Permitting, and Licensing teams to ensure necessary permits and licenses are identified and tracked for Surface Infrastructure related activities.
- Ensure governance of the project area, specifically compliance to project delegations of authority, procedures, and policies.
- Facilitate, review, and provide Project Leadership with feedback and endorsement for Surface Infrastructure estimates, budgets, forecasts, and schedules.
- Engineering degree or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and experience.
- 10+ years of leadership and management experience in the design, procurement, development, and management of remote construction sites in the mining industry.
- Efficient and skilled in planning, organization, leadership, management, and administrative processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships and communicate directly with the Project Leadership on key issues.
Our client is a leading Canadian mining company in the uranium space, with a current project set to be one of the most productive uranium mines in the world.
The project includes a remote workforce accommodation complex, an LNG powerplant and storage facility, an all-weather airstrip, onsite roads and pads, offsite access road, ancillary facilities for administration, mine and mill dry, maintenance and warehousing, product storage, and site utilities and distribution/collection networks for power, water, and waste streams.
The successful candidate will be based in the Saskatoon project office with a regular rotation to the Project site.
