We are seeking a skilled construction professional to join our team at Keats Island Construction and Services LTD. This is a permanent position with a salary range of $55,000 - $70,000 per year.

Job Summary

This role involves preparing estimates of labor and material costs, reading blueprints and determining work requirements, and preparing layouts in compliance with building codes. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in the trade and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing tender documents, operating computer software systems, and maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures. You will also be required to instruct apprentices and supervise other workers. A strong understanding of CADD systems and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Work Environment

The work environment for this role will be varied, with potential locations including residential sites, industrial plants, and mills. You will be required to work outdoors in dusty conditions and may be exposed to noise. A physically demanding workload, overtime, and tight deadlines are all part of this role.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate;
  • At least 3 years of experience in the trade;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A strong understanding of CADD systems;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Physically fit and able to handle heavy loads.
