Job Opportunity

Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Social Development Department is seeking a qualified Welfare Intake Worker to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intake interviews and assessments with social assistance clients.
  • Issue cheques and purchase orders to eligible band members.
  • Conduct home visits and maintain accurate records.
  • Interpret Social Development Policy and regulations to clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-year certificate in Social Services or related field.
  • One to two years' experience and/or training in Social Services.
  • Experience working with databases, Microsoft Office Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to deal with the public, excellent communications and organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak Cree is an asset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle and valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Must be able to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Driver's Abstract.

This is a permanent full-time position based out of La Ronge, SK.
