**Job Summary**

The Manitoba Metis Federation is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Care Assistant/Kitchen Staff to join our team. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing healthy and child-friendly meals and snacks that meet the needs of our children.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks for children, ensuring they are nutritious and appealing;
  • Monitor food levels and restock as needed, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment;
  • Deliver meals and snacks to children in a timely and efficient manner;
  • Assist with meal planning and preparation, ensuring dietary needs are met;
  • Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations;
  • Respond to incidents and emergencies, providing first aid and CPR as needed;
  • Collaborate with the childcare team to ensure seamless delivery of programs and services;
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

**Requirements:**

  • Recognized 40-hour course in childcare or nutrition;
  • Minimum one year of experience as a Child Care Assistant or relevant role, with demonstrated ability to deliver programs and services;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Valid Food Handlers Certificate;
  • Dependable, reliable, and punctual;
  • Valid 1st Aid/CPR Certification;
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check;
  • Knowledge of Métis culture, heritage, and language an asset;
  • Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
