We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Cost Estimator to join our team at CANADA INC. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction costs and be able to provide accurate estimates for various projects.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, analyzing data, and providing recommendations to senior management. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, including labour and material costs, general expenses, and overheads;
  • Analyzing blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements and estimate costs accordingly;
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and services;
  • Providing economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects, including cash flow and financing requirements;
  • Creating and submitting estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms in a clear and concise manner;
  • Maintaining accurate records of supplies and trade contractors, as well as monitoring and adjusting contract expenditures as needed;
  • Liaising with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to communicate changes and adjustments to cost estimates;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A college or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as construction management or a related discipline;
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the construction industry;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and other relevant software applications;
Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be between $80,000 and $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
