Job Description

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual requirements. This role involves working closely with the Project Manager to plan and schedule project activities, monitor progress, and report on project status.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling project activities, including monitoring and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislative and labour requirements.
  • Manage project budgets and coordinate project activities within allocated resources.
  • Prepare project cost status reports, including percent complete, cost to date, and cost forecast.
  • Identify potential risks and develop plans to mitigate detrimental impacts.
  • Monitor project progress and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Implement and monitor the Company's Safety Policy and Program.
  • Implement and monitor the Company's Quality Assurance Program and related requirements.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent technical background.
  • 8+ years of experience in civil engineering construction, with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Previous work experience on OPG projects or powerhouse experience is an asset.
  • Advanced skills in communication, problem-solving, and leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Bluebeam.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
