Software Controls Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Controls Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with company procedures and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely execution of assigned scope in assigned software project capacities.
- Performing suitability assessment and qualification of system hardware and pre-developed software components.
- Supporting the design, installation, and testing of assigned product test environments.
- Integrating software and hardware components and preparing software engineering documents.
- Providing site support and software maintenance services, including shift work.
- Implementing and maintaining key project support systems for the tooling department.
- Supporting the selection and qualification of Control Systems hardware by the tooling group.
- Assisting in preparing validation tests and reviewing results.
- Responsible for change control using configuration management systems.
- Preparing and maintaining work plans for control software change activities.
- Supporting OPEX Review and assembling OPEX for future designs.
- Reporting and suggesting resolutions for potential impacts to technical quality.
- Ensuring all work activities are performed safely in collaboration with the Project Safety Manager.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Control, or Software from an accredited university.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Siemens PLC programming experience, including Step 7, S7-SCL, S7-GRAPH, S7-Starter, SIMATIC NET, and WinCC Flexible.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with Siemens TIA V18 or higher.
- Knowledge of WinCC Unified.
- Siemens SCADA programming experience with WinCC Classic.
- Siemens PROFIBUS and PROFINET.
- PELCO experience, including Endura Certified System Technician.
- Engineering drawings interpretation.
- Engineering Change Control knowledge.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Analytical ability and effective decision-making.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Situational awareness and effective problem-solving skills.
- Inter-personal communication skills.
- Written and oral communication skills.
Security Clearance
Security Clearance from Candu Energy and OPG must be obtained and maintained as a condition of employment.
