About the Role

The University of Toronto is seeking an experienced Strategic Financial Operations Manager to join our team at the Department of Arts, Culture and Media.

This key position will be responsible for managing all non-academic administrative and financial aspects of the department, providing exceptional leadership and support to the administrative team.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and human resources, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities include overseeing financial budgets, assisting with planning and forecasting, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, with experience in managing staff and coordinating administrative services.

Requirements

  • University degree and professional accounting certification or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • At least 5 years' experience in an intermediate/senior accounting position, preferably in a university academic or administrative office;
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word, with working knowledge of PowerPoint and the University's Financial Information System (FIS) and Human Resources Information System (HRIS);
  • Proven expertise in financial and human resource management;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a sense of professionalism, discretion, flexibility, tact, and diplomacy;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple deadlines.
