Senior Environmental Assessment Practitioner/Biologist

WSP Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Assessment Practitioner/Biologist to join our Atlantic Environmental Assessment and Permitting team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise on permitting, regulatory, and environmental impact assessment tasks in support of client projects.
  • Lead projects involving environmental impact assessments and permitting, ensuring execution of scope, budget, and schedule to meet client expectations and quality standards.
  • Engage with Indigenous groups, communities, and stakeholders in project design and permitting processes.
  • Execute activities such as permit application scoping, technical writing, data and regulatory research, and development of recommendations for clients.
  • Build strong relationships with WSP employees worldwide.
  • Support project assignments involving research, report writing, and proposal development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or Environmental Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience, including federal and provincial environmental impact assessments.
  • Project management experience with strong skills in work planning, budgeting, scheduling, and project controls.
  • Expertise in Federal, Provincial, and Territorial regulations and guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team setting, accept responsibility, and meet deadlines.
