About the Role

As a Child Development Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting early childhood educators in developing and implementing programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children. Your responsibilities will include engaging children in various activities, preparing snacks, and assisting with daily routines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support early childhood educators in creating a nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth.
  • Plan and implement engaging activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
  • Prepare healthy snacks and meals for children, adhering to dietary requirements and safety protocols.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized environment, including the preparation of rooms and furniture for rest periods.
  • Assist with submitting written observations on children's progress to early childhood educators or supervisors.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • At least one year of experience in a related field, preferably in early childhood education.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with children and staff.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, often requiring a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will need to be attentive to detail and possess excellent organizational skills.
