At eBay, we're redefining the face of ecommerce. Our Buyer Experience engineering team is seeking a talented Staff Engineer to lead the development of React Native applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of React Native development experience working with high-velocity teams. We want to work with the best, and we'd love for you to join us.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of React Native applications with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Architect robust mobile solutions that can handle the demands of a rapidly growing user base using React Native.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features with a user-centric approach.
  • Ensure code quality, organization, and automatization, setting standards for the team to follow.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues within the mobile development domain.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest React Native updates and industry trends, applying standard methodologies to our development processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance code quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to cultivate their growth and ensure team skill enhancement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Staff Engineer and strong proficiency in React Native framework.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Typescript, and deep understanding of React Native and its core principles.
  • Experience in building mobile applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of mobile app development processes and lifecycles.
  • Experience with common development tools such as Node, Yarn, NPM, etc.
  • Consistent track record of crafting and integrating with APIs and understanding the flow of data.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, leading projects to successful completion.
  • Familiar with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience in fixing accessibility issues is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or closely related field with 12+ years of experience or MS with 10+ years of experience.
