Mechanical Design Engineer

Job DescriptionThis role involves working closely with the Engineering Manager, leading various projects, and maintaining the technical capability and production requirements of the service line. Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing existing data to forecast business decisions regarding budget forecasting, client profitability, risk management, and reporting findings to the Engineering Manager or Director as appropriate.
- Working as the Relationship Manager or Technical Specialist to provide clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
- Planning or reviewing projects requiring significant manpower and financial investment.
- Understanding and participating in resolving issues with cost control, non-recoverable expenditures, and utilization.
- Maintaining technical capability, providing technical expertise on projects, acting as a mentor/coach to other teammates, sharing expertise with other offices, and increasing the overall technical capability of the service line.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying completed projects eligible for technical awards, ensuring projects are submitted, and building and maintaining a well-developed network of colleagues for solving unique engineering problems.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo excel in this role, you must have:
- A minimum 15 years of experience in HVAC consulting.
- Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing various tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
- The ability to represent the company to team members, clients, and community by ensuring the best image is presented.
- Familiarity with WE systems and programs (including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
- A senior position in technical or business association.
We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including flexible work arrangements, opportunities for professional growth, and a healthy work-life balance. This role is based at our Regional Office, and remote work options are available. A Federal security clearance may be required for institutional projects.
