As an Industrial Electrician, you'll be responsible for performing inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at various customer locations. You'll work independently, but also collaborate with our team to ensure seamless service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with all corporate safety policies and guidelines, including regular meetings and customer-established procedures.
- Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on electric overhead traveling cranes and hoists at varied customer locations, as directed.
- Conduct on-site electrical, mechanical, structural, and electronic troubleshooting to determine the cause of equipment malfunctions and establish necessary repairs.
- Document findings and make corrective recommendations during the safety review to the customer, including a written safety notification of any observed or known safety concerns.
- Consult with customers regarding all repair and safety-related issues and discuss recommendations to improve their safety and productivity.
- Complete and provide proper electronic documentation using established company digital tools, obtaining customer signatures and acceptance.
- Read, understand, and apply the contents of all relevant codes and regulations, such as CSA, OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and HMI.
- Complete work packages and other required documents in a professional, accurate, neat, and legible manner, submitting them in a timely manner.
- Maintain regular communication with the service office and assigned coordinator, following established practices.
- Maintain all company-issued equipment, vehicles, and assets in a safe and proper working order, operating tools, equipment, and vehicles responsibly.
- Maintain a supply of forms, literature, inventory, and miscellaneous materials in the service vehicle, documenting use or sale to customers as required.
- Follow all established safety rules and procedures, including those established by the customer.
- Participate in monthly safety meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- A recognized trade qualification as a Journeyman Electrician, Journeyman Millwright, or equivalent qualification/experience in terms of skills and knowledge.
- Min 1 year of experience, depending on Provincial Legislative requirements and CSA standards.
- A good driving record, including a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and walkways.
- Good computer, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer interaction skills.
- Ability to work overtime or as required by customer operations.
- Ability to travel and work out of town as required.
