Job Summary

This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration ice plant, as well as daily routine maintenance of auxiliary vehicles and equipment. The incumbent will also perform duties assigned for maintenance, cleanliness, setup, and safety of the building.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all maintenance in the building, including minor repairs, emergency glass and board repair, bulb and filter replacements, facility conversions, vehicle maintenance, custodial maintenance, and other related duties as assigned.

Shift work is required for this position, including mornings, evenings, and weekends. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering a necessary level of customer service to clients, guests, service partners, and all rink user groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the ammonia refrigeration ice plant in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance of auxiliary vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform duties assigned for maintenance, cleanliness, setup, and safety of the building.
  • Responsible for all maintenance in the building, including minor repairs, emergency glass and board repair, bulb and filter replacements, facility conversions, vehicle maintenance, custodial maintenance, and other related duties as assigned.
  • Deliver a necessary level of customer service to clients, guests, service partners, and all rink user groups.

Requirements

  • High school graduation supplemented by related technical training with a minimum 5th Class Power Engineering Certification with a Refrigeration Operators Certificate of Competency and a minimum 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid class 5 drivers license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
