Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Equipment Operator - Support to join our Surface Mining Team at the Ekati mine site. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of support equipment in a complex surface mining environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate dozers, graders, loaders, and other equipment to meet daily production targets and ensure a safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members using a 2-way radio system and maintain accurate records using an electronic production data collection system.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
- Collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Adhere to all Company safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience operating heavy equipment in the mining industry, with a focus on D10 Dozer, 16G/M Grader, and 992 Loader operation.
- CAT 375 Excavator operating experience is an asset.
- Experience working in the mining industry, particularly in northern Canada, and familiarity with northern regulatory environments is preferred.
