Job Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Practical Nurse to provide direct care to residents in our geriatric care unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of residents, as well as supervising and coordinating the work of personal support workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and plan the care of residents, including developing and implementing individualized care plans
  • Provide direct care to residents, including administering medications, performing wound care, and providing emotional support
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of personal support workers, including providing guidance and feedback
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for residents
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience in long-term care and geriatric care an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in electronic medical records
