As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will provide excellent patient and family driven care in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. You will be responsible for assessing, educating, preventing, maintaining, and restoring patient health, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of care providers. Your goal is to provide high-quality care to patients and families undergoing genetic terminations, before, during, and after birth. This position supports the hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of care providers to assess, educate, prevent, maintain, and restore patient health
  • Provide care to patients and families undergoing genetic terminations, before, during, and after birth
  • Support the hospital's academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Nursing or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification (must obtain within 3 months of employment)
  • STABLE certificate (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
  • Perinatal Intensive Care Course preferred
  • Recognized breast feeding course
  • 1-year experience of neonatal nursing in a community setting
  • Bilingualism in French/English an asset

This is a Part Time Permanent position with 12 hour shifts, Days, Nights, including Weekend shifts in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
