About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Backend API Developer to join our Agile development team. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in shaping our web initiatives from conception to post-production. You will be responsible for modifying and updating existing user-facing web-based software products using PHP frameworks, specifically Laravel for REST APIs.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per month in office, allowing for flexibility while still fostering collaboration and teamwork.

  • Technical Challenges: Lead the decision-making process for transitioning from a monolithic to an API-based architecture, helping determine whether to modify our existing setup or start from scratch.
  • Autonomy and Impact: Have independence to shape our technical direction, leveraging your experience to inform decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and adopt industry best practices.
  • Growth Opportunities: Gain exposure to a dynamic technical environment increasingly integrating AI, with opportunities to explore technical or people leadership roles.
Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Build: Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using PHP and Laravel, writing code that interfaces with numerous internal and 3rd party systems.
  • Own: Work on multiple projects, balancing competing deadlines and deliverables, ensuring APIs deliver value to the enterprise.
  • Share knowledge: Promote and advocate for new ways of using APIs, encouraging others to adopt these models and showing how they can benefit the organization.
