About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Velocity Machining & Welding Inc. As a CNC Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality precision parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to ensure precise manufacturing.
  • Set Up and Adjust Production Machinery: Set up and adjust production machinery/tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Fabricate and Assemble Components: Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, ensuring high-quality finishes.
  • Maintain and Repair Precision Measuring Instruments: Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Document and Report Deviations: Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, ensuring quality control.
  • Verify Dimensions of Parts: Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Operate Conventional and Computer-Controlled Machine Tools: Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality parts.
Requirements
  • Machinist Trade Certification: Possess a Machinist Trade Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate: Hold a WHMIS Certificate or equivalent training.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Skills: Proficient in CAD software, such as Mastercam.
  • Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Experience: Experience working with CNC machines and computer-controlled machine tools.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs), and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be accurate, dependable, and a team player.
