About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at Velocity Machining & Welding Inc. As a CNC Machinist, you will play a critical role in the production of high-quality precision parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and Interpret Engineering Drawings: Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to ensure precise manufacturing.
  • Set Up and Adjust Production Machinery: Set up and adjust production machinery/tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Fabricate and Assemble Components: Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, ensuring high-quality finishes.
  • Maintain and Repair Precision Measuring Instruments: Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Document and Report Deviations: Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, ensuring quality control.
  • Verify Dimensions of Parts: Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments, ensuring accuracy and conformance to specifications.
  • Operate Conventional and Computer-Controlled Machine Tools: Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality parts.
  • Verify Dimensions of Products: Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments.
Requirements
  • Machinist Trade Certification: Possess a Machinist Trade Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate: Hold a WHMIS Certificate or equivalent training.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficient in Mastercam CAD/CAM software and computer-aided design (CAD) systems.
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experienced in operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods.
  • Weight Handling: Able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy equipment.
  • Personal Suitability: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, accuracy, dependability, efficiency, flexibility, initiative, and teamwork skills.
