Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Stone Quarry Worker to join our team at Hayer Demolition Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for constructing clay models and moulds for casting concrete products, operating machinery to cut and grind stone, and performing various tasks to support our demolition and construction activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct clay models and moulds for use in casting concrete products
  • Operate blade or wire saws to cut blocks of stone to specified dimensions
  • Set up, adjust and operate single-function machines to mix, drill, grind and cut concrete to specifications
  • Move products using forklift, crane or hydraulic hoist
  • Operate machines to grind and polish surfaces of stone blocks, slabs or other stone products to specific shape or design and to produce a smooth finish
  • Operate sandblasting equipment to cut inscriptions or decorative designs in monumental stone
  • Perform ongoing machine adjustments
  • Position reinforcing rods or wire mesh in moulds
  • Prepare and mix slip
  • Operate machines to drill holes in blocks or slabs of stone according to specifications
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work in a dusty and hot environment
  • Physically demanding, requiring handling of heavy loads and combination of sitting, standing and walking
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Weight handling: up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 hours per week, permanent position
