Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Finish Grader Operator to join our team at Colas Western Canada Inc. in Edmonton, AB. As a Finish Grader Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment to finish and stabilize roads, ensuring a smooth and safe driving experience for motorists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Goal Zero Initiative, adhering to defined activities for your position.
  • Conduct equipment checks and report mechanical issues to mechanics and supervisors.
  • Identify hazards on site and take necessary precautions.
  • Learn general construction practices involving road construction.
  • Understand issues related to ground disturbance.
  • Implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of Grader operating experience.
  • Experience in finishing roads and stabilizing.
  • Ability to work in congested areas.
  • Willingness to perform heavy tasks and groundwork as required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers.
  • Valid driver's license (class 5).
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Physical ability to perform equipment-related tasks.
  • Adherence to safety requirements and policies.
  • Active membership with the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 955.
