Enterprise Risk Management Specialist

At Medavie Blue Cross, we are seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Risk Analyst to join our Capital and Risk Management team. As an Enterprise Risk Analyst, you will play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and executing the Company's Enterprise Risk Management Framework.

The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of risk and compliance, strong technical abilities, and an interest in spending the majority of their time writing policies, updating documents, and creating reports.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the execution of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework, including performing annual risk identification processes, maintaining the Company's risk register, and developing scenarios for stress testing.
  • Supporting management in preparing quarterly reports to the Board and its committees, including the CRO Report, Risk Dashboard, Stress Testing Report, and Risk Identification Report.
  • Assisting in the development and maintenance of the organization's risk policies and frameworks, including the Risk Appetite Framework and Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Executing special Capital and Enterprise Risk projects and promoting awareness of the Company's Risk Management practices.

Requirements for the role include:

  • A university degree in business, finance, accounting, actuarial science, or another closely related field.
  • Completion or progression towards completing a professional accounting, Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), actuarial, or CRM designation.
  • 2-3 years' previous experience in a risk or compliance role.
  • Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • High attention to detail, ability to look beyond the obvious, and solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • English is a requirement, written and verbal, to provide services to our customers and communicate with internal stakeholders.

Preferred assets for the role include:

  • Experience in insurance and/or banking.
  • Some experience with modeling, stress testing.
  • Bilingual – English & French.
