Job Title: Intellectual Property Specialist

Pharmascience is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Specialist to join our team. As an Intellectual Property Specialist, you will be responsible for providing strategic guidance on intellectual property matters, including patent searches, clearance, and due diligence. You will work closely with our R&D team to develop and implement effective IP strategies that support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement comprehensive IP strategies to protect our products and ensure earliest market entry.
  • Participate in pipeline product selection by assessing generic market entry dates, regulatory submission dates, and launch dates in targeted countries.
  • Advise the R&D team on formulation development in view of the patent landscape and established IP strategy.
  • Perform patentability, validity, and freedom-to-operate searches to mitigate litigation risk.
  • Support internal litigation on intellectual property-related proceedings, challenges, disputes, and litigation.
  • Stay current with relevant intellectual property legislative developments in core markets.
Requirements:
  • Excellent scientific background in organic chemistry, biochemistry, and/or formulation development.
  • Knowledge of regulatory exclusivities, such as data protection and market exclusivity for new pharmaceutical products in CA, US, and Europe.
  • Bilingual (French & English) given the interactions with international external partners.
  • Ability to navigate patent databases and understand relevant intellectual property legal principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
