About the Role

Civil Engineer in Training - Community Development Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer in Training to join our team in Regina, Saskatchewan. As a key member of our Community Development team, you will contribute to the design and delivery of land development projects for our clients in the Saskatchewan and southern Alberta region.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare drawings and figures using AutoCAD Civil 3D software to support project teams.
  2. Participate in the design of greenfield and brownfield land development projects of high complexity.
  3. With guidance, prepare designs for site grading and site servicing, including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, and erosion control design.
  4. Support the preparation of construction drawings and technical reports.
  5. Liaise with municipalities and other approving authorities to advocate for client objectives.
  6. Build and foster relationships with clients, consultants, and municipal and provincial approving authorities.
  7. Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews for various deliverables.
  8. Gain valuable hands-on experience as an on-site observer for active construction projects, liaising with contractors, surveyors, and municipal inspectors.
Qualifications
  1. Must have a basic understanding of civil engineering principles, including site grading, sanitary and storm sewer servicing, water servicing, shallow utility coordination, roadway, lot design, and stormwater engineering concepts.
  2. Ability to work as a team player and engage in constructive and creative collaboration.
  3. Eager to take a solution-oriented approach to solving problems.
  4. High emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
  5. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Willingness to learn additional skills in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, and Bluebeam Revu.
  7. Must possess a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's license and have access to a vehicle.
