Director, Client Relationships, Defined Benefit Solutions

At Sun Life Financial, we're seeking a seasoned actuary to lead our Defined Benefit Solutions (DBS) business in Canada. As Director, Client Relationships, you'll be responsible for driving strategic growth, developing client relationships, and managing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a market segmentation strategy to identify new business opportunities.
  2. Collaborate with the DBS Structuring team to achieve annual sales and VNB targets.
  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with plan sponsors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  4. Contribute to the creation of thought leadership pieces, presentation content, and marketing materials.
  5. Lead a team of professionals to achieve DBS' objectives and drive business growth.

Requirements:

  1. 5+ years of actuarial experience working with defined benefit pension plans.
  2. Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics.
  3. FCIA designation is a strong asset.
  4. Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills.
  5. Strong project management skills with a proven commitment to quality and meeting deadlines.
  6. Bilingualism (French, English) is required.
