We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the position of Recruitment and Training Officer at the Lakeshore Regional Police Service. As a member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our policing operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting and training officers to serve our communities. This will involve creating partnerships and establishing liaisons with community groups, developing training programs, and overseeing the Cadet Training Program.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Recruitment: Assessing applications, providing advice, conducting interviews, administering tests, and organizing ride-alongs for potential candidates; responding to inquiries relative to recruitment; creating partnerships and establishing liaisons between the LRPS and communities
  • Training: Overseeing the Cadet Training Program; acting as Training Coordinator; administering formal training and officer safety training procedures; developing and updating training matrix for all employees
  • Professional Standards: Addressing public complaints; directly contacting employees and members of the public to discuss complaints and resolution

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years recent related experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Knowledge and appreciation of the Cree people and Indigenous people across Canada are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, analytical and conflict-resolution skills, and ability to organize work and meet critical deadlines are also required.
