Job Summary

School District #22 (Vernon) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Meals Coordinator. This 10-hour per week, 10-month position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our meal program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sort and distribute lunches to division categories in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Supervise students and explain procedures to helpers and runners
  • Photocopy and distribute monthly newsletters and program envelopes to all students
  • Receive and manage monies, ensuring safekeeping of signed envelopes and funds
  • Maintain accurate records and lists of program participants
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and other stakeholders
Requirements
  • Grade 10 education
  • Food Safe Certificate
  • Previous experience in a related field
Compensation

The hourly rate of pay is $24.71, plus a percentage in lieu of vacation and statutory holiday pay. This is a unionized position, CUPE Local 5523.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who self-declare Indigenous ancestry.
