Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced restoration estimator to join our dynamic team at ServiceMaster Restore Edmonton. As an estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our projects by accurately pricing and estimating restoration work. Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimate the loss and reconstruction of residential and commercial water, fire, wind, mold, and asbestos restoration projects using Xactimate software.
  • Prepare and interpret sketches for estimating purposes.
  • Work closely with project managers and coordinators to ensure scope of work and uploads are completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare materials, labor, and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out loss and reconstruction projects.
  • Prepare and maintain a list of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare estimates by calculating the complete scope of work.
  • Maintain files of working documents as backup for estimate figures.
  • Review all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to formal quote.

Requirements:
  • Highly organized self-starter who is able to work independently.
  • Patient in working with a diverse clientele.
  • Personable with the ability to effectively communicate both in verbal and written form.
  • Mathematical skills and analytical skills necessary to do material and labor estimates.
  • Confident in the decision-making process.
  • Able to work with limited supervision.
  • Ability to recognize and solve problems with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure and tight timelines.
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of various insurance carrier estimating protocols.
  • Effectively work with customers, adjusters, sub-contractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet all assigned time lines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Customer-focused - respond promptly to customer needs.
  • Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances.

Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience working as an estimator and/or project manager in the restoration and/or construction industry.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency of Xactimate/Xactanalysis software.
  • Construction knowledge would be considered a definite asset.
