Biodevice Foundry Operations Manager

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biodevice Foundry Operations Manager to lead the Biodevice Foundry team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility, including managing staff, overseeing maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring the safe and efficient use of the facilities.
Job SummaryThe Biodevice Foundry is a state-of-the-art facility that provides a range of tools and expertise for researchers and industry partners to design, fabricate, and test biomedical devices. The Operations Manager will play a key role in promoting the use of the facility and ensuring that it meets the needs of its users.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Biodevice Foundry, including managing staff, overseeing maintenance and upgrades, and ensuring the safe and efficient use of the facilities.
- User Support: Provide technical advice and support to users of the facility, including training on equipment and research experiments.
- Facilities Management: Ensure that the facilities are well-maintained and equipped, and that all necessary safety protocols are in place.
- Financial Management: Manage the budget for the facility, including forecasting revenue and expenses, and ensuring that the facility is financially sustainable.
For this role, we are looking for a candidate with a post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
