About McMaster Facilities

McMaster University is seeking a part-time custodian to join our facilities team. As a custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our campus facilities. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and make a positive impact on our community.

Job Responsibilities

  • Cleaning classrooms, labs, offices, washrooms, and residences
  • Floor maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing
  • General cleaning, including dusting and extended washing
  • Light moving of furniture and equipment
  • Waste disposal and collection
  • Unlocking and locking buildings on campus
  • Responding to emergency cleaning requests
  • Following prescribed work schedules and understanding verbal and written instructions

Requirements

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Understanding of customer service principles
  • Reliability, motivation, and enthusiasm
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Ontario Class G license in good standing (asset)
