Main Duties and Competencies
  • The Instrumentation & Controls Program Lead will provide guidance and coaching to the program team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of I&C Engineers / Specialists and designers on sustainable programs or multiple projects at a time.
  • The I&C Program Lead will act as a senior technical resource, checker, and consultant for the I&C department.
  • The role involves providing technical guidance and mentoring intermediate/junior engineers in their daily activities.
  • The I&C Program Lead will review client scope documents, seek clarifications on I&C scope, and provide detailed I&C man-hour estimations for proposals.
  • The successful candidate will coordinate with the project management team to ensure I&C activities align with the agreed project schedule and client expectations.
  • The I&C Program Lead will review/check I&C deliverables, including datasheets, sizing calculations, MR packages, and control drawings/deliverables.
  • The role requires assisting in the preparation of cost estimates for I&C bids and proposal work.
  • The I&C Program Lead will provide I&C inputs to the detailed scope of work, design basis documents, and project execution plans.
  • The successful candidate will represent the I&C team to clients and be responsible for meeting client expectations.
  • The I&C Program Lead will steer review sessions for I&C deliverables with different project stakeholders, including client operations/project teams.
Requirements
  • Ten (10) years or more of experience in Instrumentation and Controls in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • CET minimum required or P Eng. (preferred).
  • Leadership experience demonstrated in Instrumentation and Controls in past projects.
  • Strong analytical skills and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to coordinate all I&C work with multi-disciplinary teams, including Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, and CAD support.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Able to provide engineering estimates.
  • Capacity to work within a diverse team environment.
