Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Professional to join our team at School District #48 (Sea to Sky). As a School Bus Operator, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a school bus in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the safety and security of students on board, including monitoring their behavior and providing assistance as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and school staff, promoting a safe and respectful environment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the bus to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with transportation staff to coordinate routes, schedules, and student transportation needs.
Requirements
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a school bus endorsement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical stamina to perform the demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
