Law Enforcement Officer

The Customer Contact Representative is responsible for serving as the primary point of contact for all policing and security needs at CN. This role requires responding to emergency calls and working irregular schedules, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure a 24/7 operation.
Key Responsibilities• Develop strategic partnerships with municipal, provincial, and federal officials, as well as major industries and local businesses that impact CN.
• Identify high-risk locations and develop targeted action plans to secure and prevent losses.
• Conduct thorough investigations and prosecutions of all criminal incidents, and actively participate in the enforcement and promotion of federal and provincial laws related to railway safety.
• Engage in regular public speaking and presentations.
• Manage targeted traffic and trespass enforcement initiatives.
• Deliver Operation Lifesaver presentations to promote rail safety.
Working Conditions• Frequent travel over a large geographical area is required.
• Preference will be given to qualified applicants residing within the geographical area.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed is essential.
Requirements• An accredited law enforcement program or equivalent is required.
• Certification in First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is necessary.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Residency within 50 km of the posting is a must.
• Demonstrated good teamwork and positive interactions with other departments and local law enforcement agencies are essential.
• Sound judgment, professionalism, autonomy, and initiative are required.
• Informed and timely decision-making is crucial.
• Fluency in both written and verbal English and French is necessary.
*Any experience, education, skills, or knowledge that aligns with the above requirements will be considered an asset.
TrainingThe incumbent receives on-the-job training with a Coach Officer. Successful candidates without a certificate from an accredited police college will be required to complete a 3-month training program at the Ontario Police College.
