Postdoctoral Position in Climate Change Adaptation

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the University of Waterloo, Canada. The successful candidate will contribute to the RECOVER project, a collaborative research initiative focused on enhancing small islands' capacity to adapt to climate change.

Research Focus: The postdoctoral researcher will work on reviewing, analyzing, and producing publishable materials on state-of-the-art climate change adaptation approaches and strategies for Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The research will involve a systems perspective, examining the biophysical, social, cultural, and economic aspects of climate change adaptation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze existing literature on climate change adaptation in SIDS
  • Develop and implement research methods to collect and analyze data on climate change adaptation strategies
  • Contribute to the development of publishable materials, including research papers and reports
  • Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to co-create innovative climate adaptation solutions

Requirements:

  • PhD in environmental studies, geography, ecological economics, human/social ecology, political ecology, or related disciplines
  • Expertise in climate change adaptation and experience working with SIDS
  • Proficiency in qualitative and/or quantitative data analytical tools
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
