Job Title: Liquor Store Manager

At Otter Co-op, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Liquor Store Manager to lead our team at our Angry Otter Liquor store in Coquitlam, BC. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leading, coaching, and motivating our team members to deliver exceptional guest service experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily operation and management of the liquor store, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members to improve performance and achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain store merchandising standards, housekeeping, sanitation, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with BCLDB operating guidelines and government regulations.
  • Attend and participate in commodity, leadership, and safety meetings.
  • Directly responsible for team member relations, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Provide leadership in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) and contribute to the team's commitment to living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
Requirements:
  • 3-5 years of progressive retail management experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Liquor, retail, and/or guest service background preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to manage computer files efficiently.
  • Solid basic math skills and ability to read and understand financial reports.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills.
  • Self-starter with motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain relationships both internally and externally to support the organization.
  • Valid Serving it Right Certificate required.
