Fire Alarm Systems Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Alarm Systems Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Fire and Life Safety Systems, with a strong background in inspecting, testing, and servicing electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections and testing of Fire Alarm Systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, and suppression systems
- Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices for the operation of low voltage equipment
- Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices
- Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule
- Make minor repairs with minimal supervision
- Complete assigned inspections on time
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5+ years documented experience in Fire and/or Life Safety Systems
- ASTTBC Certification in Fire Alarm Systems, Unit Emergency Lighting, and Portable Fire Extinguishers
- Ability to pass criminal background and clean driving record
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics, and operational/product manuals
- Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
- Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Proficiency with using PCs, including working knowledge of MS Excel/Word, and iPhone apps
- Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 40 lbs
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements
- Demonstrate a high level of customer service
- Self-starter that can work with little to no supervision
- Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times
- Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly
- Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $32.00 to $40.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
