About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Benefits Consultant to join our team in Montreal. As a Benefits Consultant, you will be responsible for assisting our Benefit Consultants with client management requirements, with a focus on retention of the assigned book of business and support with business development activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis of insurance data and cost modeling;
  • Prepare financial analysis reports and presentations communicating key results to clients;
  • Maintain strong relationships and participate in negotiations with insurers and partners;
  • Respond to inquiries from clients and insurers;
  • Participate in calls and presentations with clients, as appropriate;
  • Help in developing strategic recommendations for clients and participate in the development of new business;
  • Take the initiative in the development of internal processes and tools;
  • Manage the quality and timeliness of client deliverables;
  • Assist in keeping the internal database and tracker up-to-date;
  • Participate in the review and validation of the work done by colleagues and other team members;
  • Play a proactive role in establishing and maintaining best practices;
  • Maintain and develop internal technical knowledge;
  • Participate in the training of new colleagues and junior team members;
  • Develop and promote our company as a key player in the market with excellent knowledge of the industry;
  • Perform any other related task or special project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field;
  • 1+ years of experience in consulting or group benefits insurance;
  • Achievement of ASA / ACIA designation of the Society of Actuaries (SOA) / Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA), an asset;
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills;
  • Bilingual with strong verbal and written communication skills in French and in English as the candidate will be required to interact in English with stakeholders (colleagues and clients) outside Québec;
  • Attention to detail and quality;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel (including VBA);
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
