Exciting opportunity to join Ontario Transit Group (OTG) as a Civil Design Coordinator - Transportation Infrastructure Specialist.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Construction Technical Office (CTO) team. As a Civil Design Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of transportation infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our Construction Team to coordinate design changes and resolve design-related issues that arise during construction.
  • Attend and organize regular meetings with the Construction Team and Designers to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Track the performance of Designers in responding to Request For Information (RFI), Field Change Request (FCR), Non-Conformance (NCR), and other design-related issues.
  • Prepare and update regularly the schedule of shop drawings and other design submittals reviewed by our Designers.
  • Review shop drawings prepared by our Subcontractor's Designers, ensuring compliance with Project Specifications and local standards.
  • Distribute redlines and IFC drawings markups arising from RFI, FCR, NDC, and other design-related issues to all parties on a regular basis.
  • Ccoordinate design-related issues between different departments, addressing potential conflicts in the most beneficial way for the project.
  • Provide inputs to track Designer's cost (ESDC, Engineering Services During Construction) based on Time and Material invoices received during construction.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in detailed design of building and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Solid knowledge of building design and previous experience working in design teams or external consultants required.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk software (Civil 3D, Autocad, Revit, Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM360).
