Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Sherbrooke. As a key member of our laboratory animal care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our animals.

• Evaluate and monitor the health status of animals under veterinary supervision.
• Work closely with veterinarians to develop and implement treatment plans.
• Perform medical treatments, interventions, and diagnostic tests under veterinary supervision.
• Identify potential animal welfare issues and propose solutions.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A College Diploma in Animal Health or a related field.
• Previous experience in a similar position is an asset.
• The ability to work physically, including lifting up to 20 kg, walking, standing, and stooping.
• Good observation and organizational skills.
• Effective time management and adaptability.
• Strong understanding of written English, with bilingualism in French and English being preferred.

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a competitive salary of $20.00/hour, with opportunities for advancement and higher salaries based on research experience. Premiums for overtime, weekends, and evenings are also included.
