Key Responsibilities
  • Routine analysis of process parameters, production reports, and laboratory data to inform optimization strategies.
  • Oversight of production processes and troubleshooting procedures to ensure seamless operations.
  • Evaluation of process performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to address deficiencies.
  • Development and implementation of efficiency-enhancing initiatives, focusing on waste reduction and cost optimization.
  • Control and management of chemicals and additives used within the process to minimize costs.
  • Full ownership of compliant pro and control documents for the Distillery Department.
  • Leveraging allocated capital budget to prioritize project implementation and drive business results.
  • Leadership and direction of ISO and 5S initiatives within the distillery department.
  • Supervision and guidance of direct supervisors and team members in implementing HACCP, Protect the Castle, and GMP programs.
  • Root Cause Analysis and process troubleshooting leadership within the production team.
  • Benchmarking process performance, safety, sustainability, and energy usage against industry standards.
  • Collaboration between laboratory testing and operating needs, ensuring alignment and optimal outcomes.
  • Exploration and evaluation of new methods for grain conversion, fermentation, yeast propagation, CO2 capture, CIP, distillation, and other key processes.
  • Development and achievement of departmental objectives, focusing on target attainment and cost savings.
  • Ensuring accurate calibration of measuring equipment according to IMS documentation.
  • Creation of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for process improvements.
  • Production of technical reports and analysis to support design submissions and project justification.
  • Project management and execution, ensuring timely delivery of results and objectives.
  • Leadership in process and utilities design upgrades and enhancements.
  • Maintenance of detailed knowledge of local codes and standards applicable to the industry and projects.
  • Management of in-house projects and capital projects implementation, with a focus on value engineering and efficient resource allocation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in leading and supervising production teams in the food and beverage industry, with two years focused on process improvement and continuous development projects.
  • Proficiency in analyzing laboratory results and implementing recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of SOPs, LOTO, and document control principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, Compliant Pro, and SCADA systems.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality results.
  • Strong leadership, relationship management, organizational planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in evaluating methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for achieving results.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Versatility in disciplines beyond the primary area of expertise, including mechanical and electrical aspects of process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and P&IDs.
