Job Summary

GFL Environmental is seeking a highly skilled and experienced AZ Operator to join our Emergency Response division in Moose Creek, ON. As an AZ Operator, you will play a critical role in transporting, removing, delivering, and collecting various liquid and solid hazardous wastes from customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport and handle hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Operate a variety of trucks and equipment, including vacuum trucks, box trucks, and other equipment as required
  • Respond to environmental and industrial spills, clandestine laboratory decommissioning, highway incidents, train derailments, and marine operations
  • Participate in job-specific and health & safety training as required
  • Complete work-related documentation and reporting
  • Follow all established organizational policies and procedures
  • Work in a safe manner, so as not to endanger oneself or others
  • Report workplace hazards, accidents, or other occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others
Requirements
  • High School diploma minimum
  • Certification from a recognized Truck Driving School
  • Valid Commercial AZ License
  • Overtime as required
  • Weekend work may be required, on-call schedule in effect on a weekly basis
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines, and time management techniques
