This is a Permanent Direct Hire Full Time role, with various shifts available. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities, as well as experience working with progressive and transfer presses/dies. Key responsibilities include:
- Verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, or dial indicators
- Setting up and operating conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders to cut, bore, grind, or otherwise shape parts to prescribed dimensions and finishes
- Visualizing and computing dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of assemblies, based on specifications
- Fitting and assembling parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools, hand tools, or welders
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work various shifts on a rotational basis
- Ability to read drawings, manuals, notes, and designs
- Exceptional knowledge of various machining and tool making equipment
- Experience working with progressive and transfer presses/dies
- Experience with steel cutting drills
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively
- Operation of overhead crane
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting of 50 lbs
- COQ certification required
- 1-2 years' experience in a similar role
