Role Summary:
School counsellors play a vital role in providing a continuum of preventative, developmental, remedial, and intervention services and programs to support students' academic, social, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling services to students, addressing a range of issues including academic concerns, personal struggles, and social relationships.
- Develop and implement school-based consultation and education programs to promote student well-being and academic success.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to coordinate support services and ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
- Facilitate referrals to community resources and external agencies as needed, ensuring students receive the support they require.
- Stay up-to-date with best practices in school counselling and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Working with School District #70 (Pacific Rim):
School counsellors in our district work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
