Job Description

We are seeking a Food Service Team Lead to join our team at Coffee Culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our food service department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To establish methods to meet work schedules, the Food Service Team Lead must be highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • To requisition food and kitchen supplies, the successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be able to build strong relationships with suppliers.
  • To supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food, the Food Service Team Lead must be an effective leader and able to motivate and guide their team members.
  • To train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, the successful candidate must be knowledgeable about food safety and handling practices.
  • To hire food service staff, the Food Service Team Lead must be able to recruit top talent and make informed hiring decisions.
  • To ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, the successful candidate must be dedicated to excellence and willing to go above and beyond to meet customer expectations.
  • To prepare budget and cost estimates, the Food Service Team Lead must have strong analytical skills and be able to manage finances effectively.
  • To address customers' complaints or concerns, the successful candidate must be empathetic and able to resolve conflicts in a professional manner.
  • To maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage, the Food Service Team Lead must be detail-oriented and able to keep accurate records.
  • To prepare and submit reports, the successful candidate must be able to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • To prepare food order summaries for chef, the Food Service Team Lead must be able to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • To supervise and check delivery of food trolleys, the successful candidate must be able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • At least 7 months of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Flexibility and ability to work varied shifts
