About the Role

The Credit Analyst will join the Credit Portfolio Management Group at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA, working under the supervision of a Director - Senior Credit Analyst. The team is responsible for managing a portfolio of large US corporates and subsidiaries of non-US groups in diverse industries.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive credit analyses, reviewing legal documentation, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. This includes:

  • Preparing high-quality credit applications and annual reviews of corporate counterparties to assess their credit quality and recommending appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions.
  • Preparing financial projections and determining debt repayment capability, ensuring compliance with SGUS Credit Policies.
  • Proposing and updating Obligor Risk Ratings and monitoring compliance with covenants.
  • Reviewing all relevant legal documentation and proposing changes as necessary to comply with SGUS policies.
  • Liaising with other CPM teams, business lines, Bankers, legal & compliance, operations, and Risk department.

Requirements

  • Strong financial analytical skills, with ability to assess credit terms and conditions.
  • Ability to work in a team, interacting with teams in the US, Europe, and Asia.
  • Strong writing skills, with ability to summarize financial transactions and assess counterparty risk.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and investment banking products and accounting, legal, and regulatory issues.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Excel for spreadsheet analysis and Word for written analysis.
  • Knowledge of capital markets/traded products and committed financing facilities.

Experience

  • 8-10 years as a credit analyst in a corporate and investment banking entity or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.

Language

  • Fluency in English, with ability to communicate in French.
