We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthesia Assistant to join our team at Fraser Health. As an Anaesthesia Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and clinical assistance to our anaesthesiologists during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist anaesthesiologists with patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining equipment.
- Provide technical support for anaesthesia-related equipment, including ventilators, monitors, and infusion pumps.
- Collaborate with the anaesthesiology team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of current anaesthesia practices and guidelines.
- Graduation from an accredited post-graduate diploma Anaesthesia Assistant Program.
- Current certification in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapy (BCSRT).
- Comprehensive knowledge of current anaesthesia assistant theory and practice.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement anaesthesia-related plans of care.
This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced hospital environment. The successful candidate will be required to work varied shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
