Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthesia Assistant to join our team at Fraser Health. As an Anaesthesia Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing technical support and clinical assistance to our anaesthesiologists during surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and clinical assistance to anaesthesiologists during surgical procedures
  • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications and fluids as directed by anaesthesiologists
  • Assist with insertion and maintenance of invasive lines and tubes
  • Participate in anaesthesia-related research and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited post-graduate diploma Anaesthesia Assistant Program
  • Current certification in CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Eligible for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) and the British Columbia Society of Respiratory Therapy (BCSRT)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
