Job Title: Retail Buyer

We are seeking a skilled Retail Buyer to join our team at New Furniture Gallery. As a Retail Buyer, you will be responsible for purchasing merchandise for resale, maintaining adequate stock levels, and negotiating prices with suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study market reports, trade periodicals, and sales promotion materials to stay up-to-date on industry trends.
  • Arrange products according to planograms to ensure visually appealing displays.
  • Establish and maintain contact with suppliers to negotiate prices, discounts, and credit terms.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely restocking.
  • Review requirements of the establishment and determine the quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
  • Select and purchase merchandise for resale, considering factors such as quality, price, and brand reputation.
  • Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories, and product design events to stay informed about new products and trends.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Judgment and analytical skills to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory management.
Work Environment:

The Retail Buyer will work in a fast-paced retail environment, interacting with suppliers, customers, and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Language:

The primary language of communication is English.

Work Hours:

The Retail Buyer will work 30 to 35 hours per week, with a permanent work term.
